PROLOGUE

From ancient times significant part of humankind inhabited areas locating in the vicinity of water and beacuse of this reason the wonders of human creativity concentrated in this areas. The attractive Danube region, introduced by our piblication, also belongs to these areas. The Danube Region offers many attractions to every generations like the world famous Sziget Festival or ruin pubs for the youth or the magnificent wildlife of the national parks. But the cultural attractions, world famous gastronomy, wellness, spa, dental touristic opportunities and activities can be also mentioned besides the numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites situated alog the River Danube. Another specialty is the UNESCO World Heritage nomination of the 417 long Hungarian part of the ancient Roman limes, which is one of the greatest construction of the humankind. The main contributors of the nomination are PhD. Zsolt Visy DSc, professzor emeritus, president of the Cultural Committee of the Hungarian National Commission of UNESCO and the main organizer of the touristic sector, Mr Attila Hirschberg, the publishers of present publication and the founders of the Hungarian Limes Association.
